s we wrap up the year in sports, it is time to take a moment to reflect back on the year that was. The 2020 - 2021 school and sports year was unique, to say the least. We never could have anticipated the many things that took place or the impact they would have on student-athletes everywhere. While our games may have been canceled or our seasons may have been delayed, let us not forget that we did get to play. Athletics is a critical aspect of a young person’s development and a key component of a Linsly education. That has never been more evident than it was this year. It is easy to focus on what we didn’t get to do, but we need to be grateful for what we did. Not everyone was as fortunate as we were and it is important to keep that in perspective. I am thankful for the cooperation and the understanding shown by all of our athletes, coaches, and parents during a most unprecedented year in sports.
At this time, we would like to publicly celebrate our spring athletes and teams, share some comments from our coaches and recognize the special award winners for each sport. A special congratulations goes out to the Girls' Tennis, Girls' Track, and Baseball programs who claimed OVAC Championships this spring. Hopefully, this is the last time we will need to honor our teams virtually and we will be able to return to our more traditional, in-person, honors and recognition ceremonies next year. For now, please help us celebrate our student-athletes and their commitment to Linsly Athletics in this format. Congratulations to all.
