Linsly Welcomes New Faculty Members

Bringing a rich blend of collegiate teaching experience, industry leadership, scholarly research, and real-world expertise, these educators strengthen Linsly’s commitment to academic excellence, student mentorship, and holistic campus life.

Dr. Jenny Caneen, English Department: Dr. Caneen joins Linsly to teach American Literature and Rhetoric and Communication. Bringing nearly 30 years of classroom experience across secondary and higher education, she previously taught English at Florida State University, the University of North Texas, and Kent State. She has taught subjects ranging from introductory rhetoric to advanced seminars on Shakespeare and Milton. A recipient of the Fred L. Standley and Phi Eta Sigma awards for Excellence in Teaching, Dr. Caneen also holds a background in professional performing arts. Outside the classroom, she is an avid culinary explorer, jazz enthusiast, and collector of antique furniture and original art.

Mr. Benjamin Kirchoff, World Language Department: Mr. Kirchoff will instruct German I through V, assist as a swimming coach, and serve on the residential life team in the Boarding Department. He earned a B.A. in German and Global Studies from Wayne State University and an M.A. in German Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder, supplemented by extensive study abroad experience in Munich and Regensburg and museum translation work in both the U.S. and Germany. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, playing tennis, crocheting, and traveling.

Ms. Erika Logston, Fine Arts Department: Ms. Logston teaches the middle school art classes as well as a section of Studio Art in Upper School. She will be actively involved with Linsly’s Art Club. She holds a B.A. in Art Education (Pre-K through Adult) from West Liberty University and brings experience from both primary and early childhood education settings. Her teaching framework blends hands-on art creation with art history, aesthetics, and critical analysis, fostering a classroom environment grounded in creative risk-taking and collaboration. Outside of school, she enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling.

Mr. Will Stride, Mathematics Department: Mr. Stride teaches Algebra III as well as AP Calculus AB and BC, while also serving as an assistant cross-country coach and campus resident. He earned a B.A. in Mathematics and Physics from Boston University, where he conducted undergraduate research in optical circuits and microbial growth modeling. Outside the classroom, he enjoys reading, listening to music, and visiting amusement parks.

Mr. John “Jack” Tellers, Mathematics and Science Departments: Mr. Tellers teaches Statistics and Physics and resides on campus as a member of the Simmons Hall residential team. He is a Linsly alumnus (class of 2002), and he joins Linsly following a 20-year career in the energy sector, where he served in roles ranging from professional geologist to Managing Director at MAP Energy. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Geology (Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) and an MBA from West Virginia University, and is a Certified Petroleum Geologist and published SPE author. An Eagle Scout and long-time scout leader, Jack resides on campus with his wife, Elizabeth, and their two children.

These new additions reflect Linsly’s ongoing dedication to recruiting passionate educators who excel not only in academic instruction, but also in building a positive rapport with students. The entire Linsly community extends a warm welcome to these talented professionals as they begin the new school year.
