Computer Students Work with 5th Grade STEAM

Over the course of the last four Linsly Middle School STEAM sessions, AP Computer Science Principles students created lessons to teach to our 5th graders.

The older students demonstrated how to use the MIT-developed Scratch programming language.

They planned the lessons, introduced and reinforced vocabulary, and worked through the logic of coding.  They also advanced their skills with a Makey Makey board to code five grapes into a piano and designed a pong game from start to finish.

It was a great collaboration between the high school kids and our youngest students!
