Linsly Faculty Member Receives Distinguished Award

Mrs. Gregory is Linsly's Director of Technology and the Computer Science Department Chair. She teaches AP Computer Science, AP Cybersecurity, Introduction to Programming, and Technology Literacy, in addition to her administrative leadership. Mrs. Gregory has an impressive impact on students, from those as young as fifth grade to students in our upper school.

Linsly senior Hunter Burkey represented Linsly at this year’s GHA and nominated Gregory as an educator who made a meaningful and lasting difference in his life.

“One of the most rewarding aspects of being a teacher is helping a student find what may be a new interest or even future career goal,” said Gregory. “Reading Hunter’s reflection that my classes have inspired his passion for computer science reminds me of the potential for other students to find their interests this school year. I’m deeply honored to receive this award.”

The state of West Virginia hosts the Governor’s Honors Academy, providing opportunities for some of the state’s most accomplished students to learn, grow, and prepare for their futures. In the spring, Linsly juniors have the opportunity to apply for the 2027 GHA, and application information will be communicated in the school’s weekly newsletter early in 2027.
