Mr. Zimmerman Reflects on The First Semester

As we near the culmination of the first semester, I find myself reflecting on our school's theme for this academic year: "Energy and Persistence Conquer all Things," by Benjamin Franklin.

Throughout the first semester, our school theme has served as a guiding principle to help students navigate through challenges and persevere both in and out of the classroom. I am immensely proud of the tenacity and dedication displayed by each member of our Linsly family.

Our students have demonstrated steady perseverance, channeling their energy into their studies, extracurricular pursuits, and personal growth. With finals upon us, let's remind ourselves that it's not just about the grades but the resilience and effort that truly define success.

Speaking of resilience and effort, I would like to commend our fall athletic teams for their incredible commitment and hard work. Their performances on the field not only showcased their skill, but also the strength of character and teamwork they've cultivated. As a community, we have also embraced helping others by supporting the winter clothing drive for YSS, Operation Toy Lift, a canned food drive, and other smaller but meaningful initiatives.

Additionally, our Middle School holiday play and Winter Concert were fantastic displays of talent, highlighting the creativity and passion of our students. It's moments like these that truly embody the spirit of unity and celebration within our community.

As we enter into the excitement of winter sports, I encourage our students to take advantage of the opportunities ahead with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Let's cheer each other on, celebrating not just victories but the invaluable lessons learned through competition and camaraderie.

At Linsly, I believe our diversity is a source of strength. This holiday season, we embrace the richness of our cultural traditions, coming together in warmth and celebration. Whether it's Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, or other cultural festivities, let's revel in the joy that each brings, fostering understanding and appreciation among us all.

To close this chapter of 2023, let's carry forward the lessons learned, the friendships forged, and the memories created. Together, let's continue to embody the spirit of "Energy and Persistence Conquer all Things" in all that we do.

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season and a bright start to the New Year!

Sincerely,

Justin Zimmerman
