Mrs. Barbara Buchwach Has Passed Away
The Linsly community is sad to share that long-time dormitory housemother, Mrs. Barb Buchwach, has passed away.
Barb was known to many as simply, "Mom." As the girls' dorm master, she built lifelong friendships and made a difference in the lives of countless students through her steady presence, thoughtful guidance, and maternal spirit.
Known for her open door and open heart, Barb created a home filled with laughter, food, music, stories, advice, and love. People gathered there not just to celebrate, but to find comfort, connection, and compassion around her kitchen table.
More than anything, Barb valued relationships. Her greatest gifts were her sincerity, generosity, and ability to truly listen. Her maternal care extended far beyond her own family, and she cared for people simply because they were people. Loving, present, and endlessly giving, she made every moment, and all of our lives, feel fuller.
