or by calling the Development Office.
Gifts of appreciated securities provide significant tax savings for the donor with regard to capital-gains taxes. Call the Development Office at (304) 233-3260 for information about the stock transfer process. We are able to accept securities as a contribution to any of the funds at the Linsly School.
Your employer may have a matching gifts program for contributions to the Linsly School. Matching gifts from your employer can double or triple the size of your gift. Contact your Human Resources department to see if your contribution to Linsly qualifies for a matching gift. If you have any questions, please contact the Development Office.
To initiate a corporate match, the donor must obtain a Matching Gift form from the company’s personnel office, complete it, and send it to Linsly with his or her own gift. Linsly’s Development Office will certify receipt of the gift and submit the form to the company.
Gifts in Kind
The Linsly School is occasionally the recipient of donated items or services. Such items/services are reviewed on a case-by-case basis to ensure they meet a viable school need. If you have an item or can provide a service you believe would be advantageous to the Linsly School, please contact the Development Office.
Memorial gifts are contributions made by surviving spouses, relatives, friends, associates, or classmates of deceased members of the Linsly community. In addition to honoring the memory of an individual, these gifts also perpetuate his or her known interest in Linsly. We will acknowledge the gift and notify the spouse or designee that a gift has been given.
Alumni and parents may want to make gifts in honor of a particular faculty member, classmate, or person who has played a special role in their lives or in the lives of their children. The honoree will be notified by the school that a gift has been received in his or her name and will be given the name and the address of the donor.
Planned gifts and bequests are an important source of long-term support for Linsly and are used as a means to augment outright giving to the school. There are several options available to donors for making deferred gifts, which can benefit both the school and the donor. To make a planned gift contact the Development Office.
Capital and Endowment Giving
Certain gifts made to the Linsly School help preserve and enhance the school community, whether in support of identified facilities needs or other physical space priorities, or in support of our faculty and student body. These gifts for capital and endowment purposes ensure the long-term programmatic strength of the Linsly School.
