Pollution Control Art Contest

Ariah Zervos was named the first-place winner in a local area art contest judged by well-known evironmental activist Erin Brokovich.
Students in grade 6 participated in the Wheeling Water Pollution Control Division Art Contest in October.  This contest asked students to create a piece of artwork that included elements of Wheeling, water, and water pollution control.  The students worked on this contest in STEAM.

Their artwork was displayed in Wheeling, and the top ten were then judged by Brokovich.

At a city council meeting on May 3rd, Ariah received recognition and a $500 prize.  Her artwork will become the signage at the Wheeling Water Pollution Control Plant and will even be on their trucks!  Way to go, Ariah!
