Head of School, Justin Zimmerman, announced today that online classes will continue for the remainder of this school year.
Here is Mr. Zimmerman's complete statement:
Over the past six weeks, the Linsly community has risen to many new challenges. We have embraced the challenge of online learning with optimism, and I have been proud of how well our students and faculty have adapted to the new digital learning platform. While we remained hopeful we might be able to come back to campus for a few weeks this spring, the safety and health of our Linsly community continues to be our highest priority. Last week, West Virginia Governor Jim Justice announced that all West Virginia schools will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. It is with both a heavy heart and with hope for a bright and healthy future that Linsly has also made the decision to continue online classes for the remainder of the academic year. The Linsly campus will remain closed, but learning will continue online. Nothing can replace the smiling faces of our students and faculty in Banes Hall on a beautiful spring day; however, we know that our Linsly community will finish this year the way they started it - ready to rise to new challenges in the face of adversity. We will continue to update parents regarding upcoming spring events, including prom and graduation, as that information becomes available. Until then, we will "see" you all online!
