Boarding Life
The Boarding Advantage
The Boarding Experience
Any student living outside the day student area as defined by the school must live in a Linsly Dormitory. Weiss Hall, Merriman Hall, East Dorm and the West Dorm are operated for those students who reside outside the Wheeling area and who have a strong desire to participate in the Linsly education program.

A "Values Added" Educational Experience
What exactly is a "values added" experience? Read more about this philosophy.

The Dormitories
The layout of each of the dormitories is different. Within each dormitory there are faculty members assigned a specific section or wing. The Dormitory Master for that section is responsible for the prescribing of specific rules and the conduct of those residents. Students are not permitted in other dormitories or in other wings without consent.

Our campus is located approximately one hour from the Pittsburgh International Airport. If necessary, the school can help parents arrange transportation for our boarding students to and from the airport.
Evening Study Hall
The study period in the evening is proctored by members of the on campus faculty and dormitory prefects. During this time it is expected that the dormitory will be quiet so that an atmosphere conducive to study will prevail. Radios, digital music players, mp3 players, cell phones and other audio and video devices are not permitted to be used at this time or after lights out. Of course, if computers need to be used during these times, they must be used solely for study purposes.

Study hall for all the students begins promptly at 7:30 p.m. At this time students are expected to have all necessary study materials - books, paper, pencils or pens, and to be seated at their desks in their rooms. Study hall for the lower school is dismissed at 9:00 p.m. Study hall is dismissed for the upper school students at 9:30 p.m.
